Straight in the morning after the Grand Prix I took the taxi to Faro Airport to start a long journey to Melbourne, Australia. It would be a 2 1/2 days trip via Lisbon, Amsterdam and Abu Dhabi. It was the first time for me to leave Europe and the first time I needed my international passport instead of my European ID.
It was a long trip but way more exhausting was the jetlag the following three days. With 11 hours time difference to Portugal now I had to be awake during my usual nighttime and sleep during my usual daytime.
Despite the jetlag I already had 5 awesome days here in Australia watching kangaroos and penguins, swimming in a blue ocean and enjoying the warm and sunny weather with my boyfriend.
Today’s 24th of december I spent on Bruny Island in sunny 27 degree with his very kind family and listening to Christmas carols on the car’s radio while driving along a stunning coastline to the most beautiful beach I‘ve ever seen.

Direkt am nächsten Morgen nach dem Grand Prix nahm ich ein Taxi zum Flughafen Faro, um eine lange Reise nach Melbourne anzutreten. Es würde ein 2 1/2-tägiger Trip über Lissabon, Amsterdam und Abu Dhabi werden. Zum ersten Mal in meinem Leben verließ ich Europa und musste meinen internationalen Reisepass anstatt meinem Personalausweis benutzen.
Ich war ziemlich lange unterwegs, aber wirklich erschöpfend war am Ende eher der Jetlag. Mit 11 Stunden Zeitunterschied zu Portugal bin ich nun wach, wenn ich eigentlich schlafen sollte und schlafe, während zu Hause die Sonne scheint.
Trotz des Jetlags hatte ich schon 5 unglaubliche Tage in Australien: Ich habe Kängurus und Pinguine gesehen, bin im blauen Ozean schwimmen gewesen und habe das warme, sonnige Wetter mit meinem Freund genossen. Den heutigen 24. Dezember habe ich mit seiner supernetten Familie auf Bruny Island verbracht. Bei strahlendem Sonnenschein und 27 Grad ging es zu Weihnachtsliedern im Radio and einer atemberaubenden Küstenlandschaft vorbei zum schönsten Strand, den ich bisher in meinem Leben gesehen habe!
