In den letzten Tagen habe ich nicht allzu viel von mir hören lassen. Das lag vor allem daran, dass ich viel segeln war, noch häufiger im Kraftraum und ansonsten für die allerletzte Klausur meiner Schulzeit gelernt habe.
Nachdem ich die dann gestern auch hinter mir hatte, erfuhren wir endlich unser endgültiges Abiturergebnis!
Viele Dinge, die man auf seiner Bucketlist stehen hat, wie zum Beispiel einen Fallschirmsprung oder mit einem krassen Auto die 300km/h Marke zu knacken, muss man einfach nur machen. Für andere wiederum muss man hart arbeiten: Eine Medaille bei einer internationalen Meisterschaft gewinnt sich nicht von allein, bei Olympia kann man nicht einfach so teilnehmen und für ein Abitur mit 1,0 muss man auch etwas tun! Letzteres kann ich jetzt aber von meiner Bucketlist streichen!
Ziemlich happy verließ ich also gestern zum letzten Mal das Schulgebäude, das ich die letzten drei Jahre besucht habe. Denn die Einladung zur offiziellen Entlassungsfeier werde ich leider genauso wenig wahrnehmen können, wie unseren Abiball. Während beider Veranstaltungen werde ich bereits in Gdynia, Polen die Juniorenweltmeisterschaft segeln. Das sind aber Opfer, die ich (zwar mit einer kleinen Träne im Augenwinkel) für den Segelsport gerne bringe.
Morgen geht dann mit dem Teil der Olympischen Klassen für mich die Kieler Woche los. Mal sehen, ob sich die Disziplin und das Training der letzten Wochen auszahlt!

No more school for me!
In the last days I didn’t give you many updates about my sailing. That’s because I spent much time on the water, even more time in the gym and the rest on studying for the very last exam of my school career. After yesterday that one was done too and we finally got our final A-level results!
There may be several goals on your bucket list that you just simply have to do and cross them out, such as skydiving or renting a fancy car to beat the 300km/h. But other goals are not as easy to reach: You won’t win a medal at an international championship without training, you cannot just make your entry for the olympics and you cannot graduate with the best results without doing anything for it. Well, the last goal on that list I can cross out since yesterday.
So yesterday I left the school that I had visited the last three years with a big smile on my face. It was the very last time I’d be there because I will neither attend the dismissal celebration nor our prom. But that’s okay because meanwhile I’ll be sailing at the U21 worlds in Gdynia. And I think we can all agree that sailing is obviously the better opportunity than listening to speeches. 😉
Tomorrow will be the first start of the olympic part of kiel week, so let’s see if the training and discipline of the last weeks will pay off!
